This is a free beauty workshop for patients. Two sessions take place a month and 18 places are available per session. Each participant receives advice on skin care and make up application. You will also receive a gift of skin care and make up products. Contact the centre to check availability and book a place.
The Makeup Demonstration takes place once a month. In this hour long session participants will be given advice on skin care and make up application.
Art therapy can help us communicate our anxiety and stress – participants can gain relief from painful and troubled feelings. It also provides time for relaxation which can lead to a greater sense of well being. Please see Centre time table for day and time of the group session. Individual sessions can be arranged through contacting the centre or directly with Cancer Focus NI.
The yoga class is designed for people with cancer to help reduce stress and fatigue. It uses gentle stretching postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. We offer a beginner’s class which can be registered for by contacting the centre and open classes. Please see Centre time table for days and times of open classes.
Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. Practised regularly it can help to increase lung capacity, improve posture and core strength. We offer beginners level 1 and level 2, which can be registered for by contacting the centre.
Tai Chi combines a series of body movements for the promotion of well being and the management of stress and fatigue. Please see Centre time table for day and time of the group session.
Learn a combination of techniques to reduce stress by helping you use your imagination creatively. There are also gentle body movements. Please see Centre time table for day and time of the group session.
This four week programme aims to help you cope with mild to moderate levels of fatigue (tiredness), by increasing your understanding and demonstrating coping and self-help techniques.
The multi professional healthcare team will look at ways you can manage your fatigue through planning your activity, diet and gentle exercise. To book a place on the workshop please contact the centre.
