Macmillan and Citizens Advice Bureau

Macmillan and Citizens Advice Bureau provide a benefits advice service for people affected by cancer.

Clinical Psychology and Cancer Focus Northern Ireland Counselling Service

Professional trained counsellors and clinical psychologists offer individual support for patients and family members.

A self referral can be made to this service by calling into either of the centres or by phone.    

Complementary Therapy funded by Friends of the Cancer Centre and Belfast HSC Trust

Complementary therapy is the name given to a number of therapies which can be used to support you during and after treatment. Complementary therapy promotes a sense of emotional and psychological well being. They can help to relieve anxiety, insomnia, stiffness and pain. Therapies on offer include:

  • Aromatherapy massage
  • Reflexology
  • Acupuncture

Our Therapists are specially trained to treat people with cancer and haematological conditions.

Out patients can refer themselves for complementary therapy by contacting either of the centres. In-patients in the Cancer Centre, Ward 10 North, Tower block and Ward 29, Royal Victoria Hospital can ask a member of the nursing staff to refer them. 


Wig Fitting Service – Provided by Brown's

Experienced hair dressers offer confidential consultations and a wide range of high quality wigs in a variety of styles and colours for patients who experience hair loss as a result of their treatment. This service is free to patients who are receiving their treatment in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. Referral is required for this service.

Patients can ring or call into the centre to arrange an appointment.
